Welcome!
In 1984, the Church of
the Nazarene General Board instituted
Nazarene
Compassionate Ministries
(NCM) to meet the physical, emotional,
relational, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the world.
Nazarenes worldwide are encouraged to exhibit a spirit of
compassion and personal involvement through prayer support,
Crisis Care Kits, disaster relief, and hands-on opportunities.
Volunteers represent a compassionate presence and Christlike
witness as they respond to personal, corporate, and community
focused efforts towards all who have been traumatized during
natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, and fires.
Alabama South District is geared up
and ready to respond to the disaster needs of those living in
the "hurricane alley" of the gulf coast. We, ALERT, are
working in cooperation with
Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR),
a sister non-profit organization through
NCM/NCMI.
Furthermore, ALERT makes itself available to assist churches
when there is not a disaster. Recent projects have included:
restoring parsonages, major repairs on churches, and assisting
a needy family by repairing their roof.
There is much to do.
Therefore, we need help! There are many ways in which you can
be involved - prayer, hands-on, financial, prayer, donations,
and more.
Thank you for visiting
our sight and your willingness to assist those who have been
devastated by the disaster on our District.
In Christ,
Mike Inscho
